St Louis producer, DJ and Yoruba Records founder Osunlade brings his deep, percussive touch to Roy Ayers' 'Brand New Feeling' on this two-part 'Yoruba Soul' remix EP. First out on BBE Music's Roy Ayers: Virgin Ubiquity compilation, the track pairs the powerhouse vocals of Merry Clayton , famed for her searing turn on the Rolling Stones' 'Gimme Shelter' and her Webster Lewis-penned hit 'Emotion' (with jazz singer Silvia Cox, known for work alongside Earth, Wind & Fire, Ubiquity and Harvey Mason). Osunlade's reworks stretch and reshape the groove into layered, hypnotic forms, steeped in his signature blend of house, soul and Afro-rooted rhythm. Pressed to vinyl with Parts 1 and 2 on either side, the digital edition also carries instrumental versions of both.
